Her name may not be Punky Brewster, but she sure is bright and spunky.
This 5th quilt was made for my niece and also god-daughter who will turn four in April. I had so much fun making it and picking out the fabric.
So, who is next?

…and I’m curious to try some!
Anyone ever had or tried to make mochi on their own? Suggestions? Tips? Know where a Midwestern girl can buy some?
Until I do, I’ll just enjoy some eye candy. Or should I say eye-scream? Ha! Get it? Because mochi is ICE CREAM. Instead of “eye-candy” I wrote “eye-scream”. Like how I did that?

Each week, Nicole and I, plus our families, try to get together and do a family dinner.
It keeps reminding me of how much I am happy to be living in a city that has family close by.
The meals are always good. There’s always an abundance of food, screaming kids, wine and dessert. This weekend I’ll be doing the entree and Nic will be providing the dessert. She mentioned at one point a tiramisu, so of course I went a searchin’. Whether or not she makes it, I’ll try it out eventually.
Why yes. I’ll have a slice or ten of a Twinkie tiramisu*.

*This is not a hint for Nicole. I’m just saying that I found a pretty great recipe.
Over at Spoonflower, the weekly contest is a four color Art Deco theme.
I had to try. (*cough* vote for Deco Glass by shornickel *cough*)
Anyhow, designing some Art Deco fabric sure did get me in the Art Deco mood. After all, Joel and I collect Art Deco travel posters from all of our vacations. Now only if I could get him on board to buy me the Art Deco ring, some Art Deco chairs and maybe some dresses that look straight out of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
What can I say? I kind of like the genre.

Poster (which I actually own, right above my sewing machine)
You didn’t think I could last this long, did you?
I added my fourth quilt to Etsy but the catch is that this one is custom order. Let me know the colors you’d like and I’ll surprise you with a fantastic lap quilt. (Wishful thinking of a design challenge I suppose).

Up next, rainbow Zig Zag for my niece Phoebe’s birthday.
Our house is a shoebox. Our kid’s rooms are the size of stamps.
My almost two year old is close to needing his bed instead of a crib and my brilliant idea is to have my two children share one room for sleeping and create the other room for playing.
Thoughts on sharing a room?
Here are some room sharing candy.

When I’m in Memphis visiting my mom, we always ALWAYS have to stop at the Williams-Sonoma outlet.
Well folks, guess what. I think I found my new favorite kitchen spot. Too bad it’s only in New York. I guess that’s what online shopping is for, right? So Fishs Eddy, congratulations! You are bookmarked and WILL be shopped at.
Here’s a peek of greatness.

Well, my computer was being reformatted. I’ve been working a lot at my “paid” job and oh yeah, I’ve BEEN QUILTING.
I can’t stop. Seriously. It’s what I think of when I go to sleep and it’s what I think of when I wake up.
I recently made a quilt for my friend Sylvia, who I’m also doing wedding invitations for, and I ended up with so much fabric that I made a second quilt. So why not give Etsy a shot and try selling it? It can only help my addiction, right?
Yesterday I had the luxury of making waterless snow globes over at Missy’s mom’s house. (Thanks Pam!)
I couldn’t have been any happier with making them and since they’re charging $25 for similar ones over at Anthropologie, well, I think I’m pretty happy with my 5 that I made for free. Again, thanks Pam.
I challenge you to only make one. They’re kind of like potato chips. You just can’t stop.

Over the weekend, I visited an Anthropolgie in Memphis.
Say it with me, ahhhhh. We Ozarkians don’t have an Anthropologie, so I take every opportunity that I can to soak it all in while I visit one. Lo and behold, would you guess what they’re all about at the moment? QUILTS!
Yes. Quilts. Gorgeous quilts. Expensive quilts. A log cabin quilt that hey, I just finished one! So add these two quilts for inspiration for future projects.

Anthropologie Quilt. I can do this with scraps.

Anthropologie Quilt. I love a good log cabin, especially a white and red one.
